I have yet to figure out how to get the boy to really brush his teeth. Now, don't get me wrong. He LOVES the toothbrush and cries when I take it away and it is time for night-night. I think he even says "teeth" only he says "teeeeee".
I try to say: "Brush-brush!!" 'Cause as a parent, one must learn the new definition of "double-speak" and say EVERYTHING twice. He just smiles at me and chew on the toothbrush. Most of the time, he will open his mouth when I say "Say AHHHHHHHHH!" And then I can brush really fast. I think it tickles, especially when I brush the front bottom ones. He will laugh and clamp down on the brush.
I even sing him the Raffi song: "When I wake up in the morning and its quarter to one, and you wanna have a little fun you brush your teeth Shh shhshh shhhhhhh sh shhshh shh shhhhhhhhhh." He even does the shhshh noise with me! Of course now I will worry that he'll become an insomniac with impeccable dental hygiene....
